IT and networks for retail and distribution

Connected stores, protected payments and technical support close to every point of sale.

In retail, a stalled checkout or a store without network means lost sales. Overwan connects stores and warehouses with SD-WAN, installs Wi-Fi for staff and customers, secures the network and payment environment with network security, and provides 24x7x365 support, with on-site visits when needed.

Who we serve

IT challenges in the sector

Available points of sale

Checkouts, payment terminals and connected scales depend on the network. A failure during peak hours has a direct impact on sales.

Many stores, small IT team

Networks across scattered stores need standardized configuration, centralized management and on-site support without relying on a technician in every store.

Card payments

Card data requires a protected payment environment, separated from the rest of the store network.

Wi-Fi for customers and staff

Customer Wi-Fi, staff devices and store systems must be separated, with performance suited to each use case.

Activity spikes

Campaigns, sales and festive seasons increase the load on stores and e-commerce, requiring reinforced capacity and monitoring.

Store, warehouse and online

Stock, orders and prices must be synchronized across stores, warehouses and online channels.

How we help

Regulation & compliance

PCI DSS

Organizations that accept card payments must consider the PCI DSS requirements applicable to their payment environment. The scope depends on how card data is stored, processed or transmitted and on the architecture used, and may involve access control, monitoring and segmentation of the payment environment.

GDPR

Customer data from loyalty programs and e-commerce requires technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk.

NIS2 / Legal Cybersecurity Framework

Food sector companies engaged in wholesale distribution and industrial production and processing are among the sectors covered by the NIS2 Directive, transposed by Decree-Law No. 125/2025. The applicable framework should be assessed based on the entity's activity and size.

Why Overwan

Frequently asked questions

Do you visit the stores in person?

Yes. Most issues are resolved remotely; when physical intervention is needed, we visit the store.

Do you separate the payment network from the rest of the store network?

Yes. Payment terminals, store systems, customer Wi-Fi, and staff devices are kept on separate networks, with access rules between them.

Can you set up a new store with the same configuration as the others?

Yes. We use a standard network and equipment configuration, prepared before opening, so that each new store starts up with the same security and management rules.

Do you monitor the network of all stores?

Yes. We monitor the connections, network, and equipment of all stores from a central point, to detect failures early and, in many cases, resolve them remotely.
